Our Fees

Cost Uncertainty? Not Here.

We publish our fees because we think you should know what dental care costs before you book, not after the bill arrives. Where a fee depends on what your teeth need, we’ll assess first and give you the cost in writing before any treatment begins.

Clear pricing. No surprises. It’s that simple.

Fees last reviewed September 2026. Fees are subject to change. The fee quoted to you in writing at your appointment is the fee that applies.

A couple of things worth knowing:

Everyday Dental Care.

Check-ups, fillings, X-rays and the routine treatments that help keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Treatment Practice Guide Fee What May Affect the Fee
Routine Check-Up and Clean
$220

Your regular 6-month check-up & clean includes:

  • Examination
  • Professional scale and clean
  • Polish and fluoride treatment.

X-rays are not included and are charged separately at $50 each if needed.

Fillings
From $200 for a small filling (521) to $380 per tooth (535)

Composite restoration for decay, wear or a minor fracture. Fees vary with the number of surfaces, the position of the tooth and the complexity of the repair.

Onley (Partial Crown)
$1,150 to $1,550 depending on size.

A custom-made restoration using the same material as a crown to repair a tooth with damage too extensive for a standard filling, but not severe enough to require a full crown. A good alternative for molars, as stronger and more hard-wearing than a filling.

Gum Disease Treatment
From $250 per quadrant

Active non-surgical periodontal therapy. The final fee depends on the level of inflammation, pocket depths, the number of quadrants treated, and the appointment time required. We assess your gums first and quote in writing.

Root Canal Treatment, Front Tooth
From $880 per tooth

Root canal takes one or two appointments. The tooth then needs to be rebuilt, most often with a filling, occasionally with a crown from $1,850. The final fee depends on the number of canals, extent of damage and number of appointments needed.

Root Canal Treatment, Back Tooth
From $1,600 per tooth

A back tooth almost always needs a crown afterwards, from $1,850, to restore the tooth's strength for chewing. We quote both in writing before treatment starts.

Custom Sports Mouthguard
From $250

Custom fitted. The final fee depends on design, material and fit requirements.

Night Guard or Occlusal Splint
From $655

For grinding and clenching. Suitability confirmed after a bite and tooth wear assessment.

X-Rays
$50 per X-ray

A small, detailed image of one area, used to check between teeth and below the gum line where an examination cannot see. Taken only where clinically indicated.

OPG, Full Jaw X-Ray
$105

A single wide image of both jaws, all the teeth, the sinuses and the jaw joints. Used for wisdom teeth, implant planning and a first full assessment. Included in the New Patient Advance Check-up and Clean.

CBCT, 3D Scan
$195

A three-dimensional scan, used for implant planning, complex root canals and difficult extractions. Only taken where a standard X-ray cannot answer the question.

Re-cement a Crown, Bridge or Veneer
Quoted on the day

Where a crown, bridge or veneer has come loose and the underlying tooth is sound, it can often be cleaned and re-cemented in a single short appointment.

Retainer or Splint Repair and Replacement
Quoted on the day

Repairs to a cracked retainer, night guard or mouthguard, and replacements where the appliance is beyond repair. A replacement needs a new scan, so it is quoted after we look at the appliance.

About X-rays: We only take X-rays when they’re clinically indicated. If they’re not already included in your appointment, we’ll let you know the cost before taking them.

A Fair, Simple Deal for Your
Kids Dental Care.

Same straightforward pricing. Same unrushed care. And if your child is eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), we can help you check their available balance.

Treatment Practice Guide Fee What May Affect the Fee
Check-up and Clean, 6 and Under
$99

X-rays extra only if required. The same price for new and existing patients.

Check-up and Clean, 7 to 12 Years
$149

X-rays extra only if required. The same price for new and existing patients.

Check-up and Clean, 13 to 17 Years
$199

X-rays extra only if required. The same price for new and existing patients.

Fissure Sealants
$75 per tooth

A protective coating is sealed onto the biting surface of an adult back tooth, usually soon after it comes through, to keep decay out of the grooves. No drilling and no anaesthetic. Often covered in full by the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.

Custom Sports Mouthguard, Child
From $250

Custom fitted from a digital scan, in your child's club colours if you like. A boil and bite guard from a chemist does not protect a growing mouth the same way. Growing children usually need a new guard every season or two.

Expansion Plate
$795

A removable expansion plate. Includes two adjustments. Additional adjustments $100 per appointment.

Good to know:

Whitening + Cosmetic Dentistry.

There’s no one-price-fits-all approach here. Suitability comes first, and where treatment needs to be individually planned, we’ll provide a quote after your assessment.

Treatment Practice Guide Fee What May Affect the Fee
Whitening Consultation
$80

Suitability assessment and an honest view of what whitening will and will not achieve for your teeth.

In Chair Teeth Whitening
$650

One appointment apx one hour. A check-up and clean is required first, and whitening is done within two weeks.

Take Home Whitening Kit
From $450

Custom trays made from a digital scan, plus professional gel. Suitability is checked first.

Veneers
Quoted after assessment

Depends on the number of teeth, the material and the complexity of the case.

Results vary between individuals and not every treatment is suitable for everyone. Any dental procedure carries some risk. We’ll discuss suitability, limitations and relevant risks before you decide whether to proceed.

Extractions.

Sometimes removing a tooth is the appropriate option. Sometimes it isn’t. We’ll assess the tooth first, explain your options and let you know if we believe removing the tooth is the right answer.

Treatment Practice Guide Fee What May Affect the Fee
Simple Extraction
From $250

Straightforward extraction of tooth or part of tooth. Root shape, the condition of the tooth and surgical complexity affect the final fee. X-rays are not included and are charged separately at $50 each if needed.

Wisdom Teeth or Complex Surgical Extraction
Quoted after assessment

Tooth position, complexity and the anaesthetic approach all affect the fee. Some cases are better referred to an oral surgeon, and we will tell you if yours is one of them.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner if you are unsure.

Dental Done Right.

Price matters. So does what you’re getting for it.

We give appointments the time they need, recommend treatment based on what we actually find and put the health of your natural teeth first.

And there are some jobs we simply won’t take on. If we believe your treatment belongs outside general practice, we’ll tell you and recommend the appropriate next step.

Because when it comes to your teeth, getting the right care the first time can save a lot more than having to fix a problem later.

That’s the way we like to do things.

Health Funds + Payment, Made Simple.

We accept all private health funds and offer on-the-spot HICAPS claiming, so where your treatment is eligible, you can claim your rebate and see the remaining gap straight away.

We’ll also help you understand your cover and make the most of the benefits available to you.

Health fund rebates vary depending on your fund, level of cover and remaining annual limits, so any rebate estimate we provide is just that: an estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

A good rule of thumb is when their first tooth appears or by their first birthday, whichever comes first. Early visits are usually less about treatment and more about getting familiar with the dentist, checking that everything is developing as expected and helping you establish healthy habits at home.

Ideally, every six months but every child is different. We’ll suggest a schedule based on your child’s teeth, gums, development and individual needs. If you’re looking for children’s dentistry in Toowong, we’re always happy to welcome new families.

You’re not alone and we’re here to help. As a child-friendly dentist in Toowong, and parents ourselves, we take things at their pace, explain what we’re doing in kid-friendly language and give them plenty of opportunities to ask questions or take a break. Parents are welcome to stay close too.

They are! Baby teeth help children eat and speak and hold space for the adult teeth developing underneath. Keeping them healthy also gives us the opportunity to establish good brushing and dental habits well before the Tooth Fairy starts getting busy.

No. We only recommend X-rays when they’re clinically needed to give us information we can’t get from looking at the teeth alone. If we recommend them, we’ll explain why and let you know the cost before going ahead.

Yes. If you’re looking for a CDBS dentist in Toowong, Enamel & Mint accepts the Child Dental Benefits Schedule for eligible children. CDBS can be used towards a range of eligible services, including check-ups, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealants, fillings, extractions and root canal treatment. Not sure whether your child is eligible or how much benefit they have remaining? Just ask us and we can help you check.

Not every child does. Fissure sealants may be recommended when the deep grooves in the back teeth are more likely to trap plaque and food. They create a protective coating over these grooves to help reduce the risk of decay. We’ll check your child’s new adult molars as they come through and let you know if we think sealants could be useful.

If they play a sport where there’s a risk of knocks to the teeth or jaw, we may recommend one. Our custom sports mouthguards are made from a digital scan of your child’s teeth for a secure, comfortable fit. Because kids’ mouths keep changing, we’ll also let you know when it’s time to think about a replacement.

As part of your child’s regular check-ups, we’ll keep an eye on how their teeth, bite and jaws are developing. In some cases, Dr Lillian may recommend a removable expansion plate to create space or address certain bite concerns. If their needs are better suited to orthodontic care, we’ll explain that too.

We keep our kids’ dental costs nice and simple. A check-up and clean is $99 for children aged 6 and under, $149 for ages 7–12 and $199 for ages 13–17. X-rays aren’t included and are only recommended when needed, with the cost explained upfront. Gap-free check-ups and cleans may also be available for children with eligible private health insurance.
